  1. The Modesto Muni Niners hosted a PWGA Playday last Tuesday with golfers from Castle Oaks, La Contenta, Stockton, Manteca, Micke Grove (formerly Lockeford Springs) & Mission Hills participating. Although the club had a limited number of carts available, we were able to accommodate everyone. Lunch was provided by the S.O.S. club and numerous raffle gifts were donated by club members which added to the fun!
Muni Niners will also be celebrating the club's 50 anniversary on Tuesday, June 23rd and they are hoping for a great turnout for this special event!

  2. What a fun two days we had at Spring Creek Country Club in Ripon for Team Play this year!
The venue was great; weather perfect, and we had a nice lunch following golf waiting for the results. Bev Chance and Cathy Pierce did a super job tallying up the scores both days and running a very smooth tournament!
Also, Nancy Boggs was the “Rules Official” and was always available to answer any questions that came up, as well as clarifying some of those rules that come up only infrequently
With 12 team competing this year, it was a record turnout for the first time since team play began back in 2005, and there were eight teams representing Modesto Muni Niners and four teams represented by clubs from La Contenta, Buchanan, Micke Grove, and Rio Vista.
“Closest to the hole” winner on the first day was Terry Wilder-Unruh (for a golf package at Spring Creek) and on the second day our local First Tee Coordinator, Cathy Mendoza won(a golf package at Spring Creek, also)!
    Team winners were as follows:
4th – BUCHANAN – Jean Eissner, Lorraine Koven, Marlene Roberts & Bernie Garrison (124)
3rd – MODESTO – Tami Krauss, Marilyn McRitchie, Carmen Ingols & Bettie Loving(121)
2nd –MODESTO – Laura Heiser, Cindy Coble, Nancy Norton & Pat Engelbert. (119)
1st – MODESTO - BLANCHE MAGUIRE, TERRY WILDER-UNRUH, SUSAN NEUBAUM & BAILEY ANDERSON
The competition was very exciting, and the first place team played well the first day (54) and easily held off the other teams winning by a 5 stroke margin today. They are to be commended especially since they were all first timers this year!
Congratulations to all who participated and made it such a fun two days!! Also, a big thank you to the pros and staff at Spring Creek Country Club who picked up our bags AND stored them overnight, provided all refreshments for both days, and in general were most hospitable.
